I painted this wooden block to play with edges and transitions of painted surfaces. I chiseled and drilled areas of the block away to add dimensionality. I added a wire grid and line running through the chiseled grooves and holes in the block. The coper cage area adds a pop of contrast, and the entire sculpture lives on a base of painted plastic discs to raise it off the table surface.
